because Patchy and Tabitha have gone down to the vets for spaying. We could have locked them in Samson's crate overnight so that they couldn't eat anything, but this is easier.
The adult cats all breathed a sigh of relief - "Those noisy brats have gone away. I wonder if/hope that it'll be permanent and I can get on with my sleeping".
It feels almost unnatural not to be bounced on several times in the night...
