Back to playing catchup again:

Thursday 1 July: Marcia had yet another test at Hinchinbrooke. As of today (12 July) we still hadn't heard any results formally. The informal results were that things are still the same, and a secondary infection may be developing in Marcia's gall bladder. The consultant continues to model his behaviour after Q Fabius Maximus...

On the way back, we dropped by Milton Brewery to collect some beer for the weekend. So now Marcia knows where it is and may be able to do the collection in future. Well, maybe.

Friday 2 July: we came back from shopping to find that the second of our two budgies had died. He was over 5 years old, which isn't bad for a budgie. So now there are no more cheerful chirps in the morning :-( We may even get some more cage birds, but if so they'll be in a different (larger & more secure) cage.

Saturday 3 July: a few people braved the weather to come to our barbie. It was sufficiently blowy in the afternoon that I had to find [livejournal.com profile] pmcmurray a glass glass rather than a plastic glass, as the plastic one kept blowing away.

On Monday we were visited by a double-glazing fairy, who did the usual cheaper and cheaper trick... We ordered new windows for our bedroom as a trial; if they work well, we may go with Zenith for the rest, as the quote for doing the whole house was only slightly more than I paid 7 years ago to do Drake Road. At least we should be warmer this winter, even if we have to put off getting the wood stove for the living room as a result.
