is where the cats are.
We left Boston on Tuesday, checking out of the hotel and taking a cab to Logan at about 11:30. As a result, we got on the 1pm flight to Newark instead of the 4pm one that we were booked on. Not that I prefer Newark to Boston, but I prefer to get flying over with rather than risk delays.
We bought some TSA-compatible locks in a luggage store, as well as a set of rail DVDs (6 for $30) in the Discovery Channel store. Hung out in the bar for a while, and then over to get a meal in the steak house by the gate (C121). The flight back was boring as usual, and uncomfortable as we had a middle and window in a 3, and the aisle was occupied. We were into Gatwick early, so there was a delay while our car was fetched from storage. And so home round the M25 and up the M11 - not my favourite drive while tired & jetlagged.
Once we were home, all the cats turned up over the next few hours. Tabitha has a bite or two where she'd been arguing with something. It might have been another cat, but I suspect a rabbit, and probably a deceased one by now.
Our cat-sitter was very apologetic - a breaker had tripped, and she hadn't spotted that it included the fridge/freezer in the kitchen for some days. So that had been cleared out, and she'd done some restocking, which was nice. Not too much lost, I think - just some frozen veg and ready meals, plus Marcia's stash of US sausage. But we have another two fridge/freezers, which seem to have been unaffected. One of these days I must trace what's on which breaker...
On Thursday, back to work, to find (as expected) that the Schengen work is still going on and (not as expected) that my first expenses claim has been paid already. Maybe I can afford to have gone to Worldcon after all...
