but nothing gone, as far as I can see...

I was tidying the garage yesterday, and suddenly noticed that a section of window framing was missing. Close inspection showed that some sill was missing too, and that the whole bottom of the frame was rotten and came away at a touch, to leave a hole big enough for a cat-sized animal.

A large cat-sized animal. Current thinking suggests one with orange fur, but I could be wrong...

There is now a board duct-taped across the hole, and it was still there this morning. Must investigate and see how rotten the frame is and figure the best way to repair/replace it.

I'd hoped the windows would last a little longer (like till we've got the windows in the main house done), but I've built window frames before.

Took a couple of loads of junk (including an old sofa) out of the garage down to the local dump.
Rearranged a few other things to create empty space (which is when I noticed the missing bit of window frame). So we're prepared for Chris if his move up here goes back to green.

I was thinking of moving my desk to the other half of the library to get a better signal on the wireless network, but Chris moved the router out of Marcia's study into the dining room (next to the phone socket) and I can now get Good strength signal where I am. Another victory for indolence...

In the evening, to the Village Hall for the King's Lynn-based blues band "After Hours". A good turnout (60+ people?) and a fun time was had by all. Marcia employed Seth Breidbart's tactics with the raffle, nd we got a bottle of wine, a boxed set of Brut products and a baby animals calendar. The latter two were the last things left in the pool, and Chris agonised over the choice. When he got back to the table, he realised that he had the last ticket as well...

But they didn't end till 11.30pm so it was about 12.30am by the time we'd finished the washing up and left.

Today: pull the 486 out to the garage (now there's room) and take the old washing machine and tumble dryer down to the dump.
