Things Get Done...

A weekend of small achievements:
The garage door now closes again.
Marcia backed into it on Thursday, bending it so that it wouldn't latch. I used a stout piece of wood and a pair of G-clamps to straighten it out somewhat. It's still bent, despite a second shot today, but it latches OK. Maybe even more easily than it did.

The nearside front tyre on the Fiesta now stays inflated.
It had a slow puncture, so I went in to Gem Tyres on Saturday afternoon to get it replaced. They're closed then. So are Ely Tyre Services. But ATS were open, and could do it in only about an hour...
So I walked into town. That's £35 for the tyre, and £21 in the bookshop, then.

The Parish Council have decided to oppose the planning application. I gather that David implied to Marcia that it was more "Hell, No!" than just "No". So optimism is restored. For a while, anyway.

Installed Firefox. Installed Spybot S&D.

Bought some readymade shelves in Tesco - two quarter-circles and two straight shelves, for £2.47 each. I don't think I could make them that cheaply.

Failed to walk round the village checking that all the houses are where I think they are. Some other day, maybe...
