I drive along the bypass round the village of Caxton.

On this bypass is a layby.

Yesterday, in the layby was a car, parked, with a door open, and a man standing by it.

Playing the bagpipes.

Presumably people won't let him practise at home...

I find myself wondering where my chanter's wandered off to.

Trivia of the moment: practice bagpipe chanters sound remarkably like duck calls, but are much harder to blow through.

If it's Scottish pipes, then yes, people find it incredibly hard to find practice space.

I love it. My friends will be so jealous, we usually get delays do to car fires and road rage. Bag pipes would be a nice change of pace.
