not that you'd notice, since I don't update here as often as I'd like.

Marcia's mother was in a car accident yesterday, and is in hospital with a broken ankle and collarbone (and heavy bruising, I gather). This may signal a trip to Tennessee for one or both of us.

Just what we need with Marcia having been un/underemployed this summer, and my PC dying suddenly a couple of weeks ago.

USB hard drives are really useful things for backups, because they're easy to do, so they get done. Thus I only lost a week's worth of stuff, much of which I could recover from online sources. Just flip up a command prompt and type "xcopy c:\*.* e:\tim\*.* /c /d /e /k /r /y" and Bob's your uncle.

Hope she gets better at an appropriately quick rate. Hope the trip doesn't strain your finances unduly.

Hey, Bob is my uncle!

Rats - these things never happen when people are unexpectedly wealthy, do they.

[livejournal.com profile] bohemiancoast was disposing of some PC hardware a while back, might be worth checking if she has anything left.

Sorry to hear about Marcia's mother. Hope she heals quickly both for her sake and so that a US trip won't be necessary. Hang in there, both of you!
