was apparently found dead in his flat this week.

According to Dermot Dobson, posting in rec.arts.sf.fandom:
Here are the funeral arrangements for Michael Damesick. The funeral will be
held on Thursday 10th August at 2 p.m. on the South side of Birmingham just
off A34. It is at
Robin Hood Cemetery
Streets Brook Road
Shirley
Birmingham.

It seems that Mike was found dead in his flat after not answering the door
for some days, no other info known at present. Body released for burial, so
presumably foul play not suspected.

Good grief, that's a name from the past. Haven't seen him since I left Oxford.

I think he was one of the Langford-Hoare-Dobson generation at Oxford, so probably a few years older than me. But definitely "my generation".

So is there a nearby pub or something? It's a couple of hours from here, so I'll target being there for about 1pm, I think, Just In Case.
