We had a small "open house" last night, with visitations from Michael and Joy from across the way, with their two children, and later from Simon and Katie (from two doors down) and
bellinghman and
bellinghwoman, who saw in the New Year with us.
The two children were an interesting contrast in their attitude to the dogs: the elder was terrified, because he'd had a bad experience, and Faldo is at least twice his size, but the younger wasn't worried at all by them, and gave us a "need a camera" moment by falling asleep propped up on Faldo. Samson was off in his crate, because he's a bit too bouncy for them.
In other news, I changed the catflap (again) for a less broken version, so it's staying shut in windy conditions again. The Rayburn lit yesterday morning, but isn't burning properly - after more than a day, it's up to 200 degrees F, which should really have taken it less than an hour. I foresee a visit in the near future...
