I so need a UPS. We've just had two power cuts: the first as I was downloading my mail; the second as I was running a check to get the indexes back in line with the mailboxes...
My sympathies. I just bought a Kill-A-Watt (http://www.p3international.com/products/special/P4400/P4400-CE.html) meter to measure just how many volt-amperes the computer equipment in the office draws, so I'll know how big a UPS is appropriate.
Mind you, there's a limit to how large I can go, because the circuit is only 15 A, and I'm not going to have the apartment rewired just to install a larger UPS. Not that I'd mind having more circuits in this place. I think there are only two 15 A household outlet circuits for the entire apartment (not counting the kitchen), and nowadays that's not really enough.
OTOH, Lisa's trailer in Oregon has only 30 A service total.
