Apparently, he was struck and killed by a car this morning. Katie, who works at the new vet practice, found him and took him in for ID.
Somehow, it doesn't seem real yet, and probably won't for a while.
I guess my default userpic is the one to use: that's him on top of one of the bookcases in the library.
