We have many things, but the container appears to have been dropped at some point, and one thing that has not survived is my PC :-(

It may be that, though the label on the PSU says it's multivoltage, it doesn't actually like 110v. Whatever, I think that tomorrow I'll pick up a cheap base unit and transplant the HDD.

They usually are autoswitching these days.

Is it an AT-X box? If so, does it power up at all? If it doesn't spin the disk, are the USB ports live?

If so, it may be worth checking if the cable from the on button to the motherboard is still intact and plugged in properly.

Sounds like something is loose - a cable, some of the memory, or the processor itself - but I obviously could be wrong, and there's no way to diagnose it from the other side of the world. Good luck with it anyway; if you're making an insurance claim for other damage you might as well lump it in.

Yikes! Sorry to hear that...
