I took a half-day yesterday (which enables me to solve the problem of booking half-days on the new system - I'll redefine my leave and take last Thursday as a full day annual, with Friday 4th and yesterday as half-days on flexi) because the local solicitor thought I should turn up when getting the copy of my passport certified. Not quite sure why, but any excuse...

In the interval between that and going out for the evening, we finally got round to installing Marcia's new printer. Well, actually, it was more a matter of clearing Marcia's old system off the desk so as to have space to set things out - all it needed was a reason, and writing a rude letter to NTL: Freedom about the differences between their letters and their actual charges turns out to be that reason.

And so down to the Cambridge Blue for the local fan group. This turned out to be a bad day: apparently there was a rowing event yesterday and the rowers were all in the pub afterwards. This did mean that they were spit-roasting a pig, but it also meant you couldn't move by 8pm even in the garden. So we edged out a bit after 9pm, having picked up some network cards for [livejournal.com profile] the_magician from [livejournal.com profile] armb. Since we could use some, Chris may not see them unless he visits soon...
