The Audi has now moved - apparently when Marcia came home last night, the owners were trying to start it, and eventually succeeded.

According to her, they said they were taking it to "a mate's house" to repair a broken turbocharger. Whatever, it should now be off the road, and thus legal again. Amazing what effect a phone call from the council can have...

Well, not as such, since there's no mains gas in the village.

But the chap who looks after our Rayburn was supposed to be here sometime after 3.30 to clean and relight it.

So I took a half-day leave. And came home. And waited. And waited.

I figured that, being at the end of the day, he might well be running late, so it wasn't till after Marcia got home and we had fed the Menagerie that she rang him up.

It appears that there are some problems (unspecified) in the family and he doesn't know when he'll be able to get to us. But he could give us a recommendation...

The new chap is from the Cambridge area and can make it here on Thursday about 10 or 11 am. Which means a full day's leave for me :-( Fortunately, I have leave to burn, but.
