The Audi has now moved - apparently when Marcia came home last night, the owners were trying to start it, and eventually succeeded.

According to her, they said they were taking it to "a mate's house" to repair a broken turbocharger. Whatever, it should now be off the road, and thus legal again. Amazing what effect a phone call from the council can have...

Only if they have registered a SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) (http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/UntaxedVehicle/DG_4022058) - but that's their problem, not yours.
