On and off...

Something is dodgy in the broadband connection. We turned things off when we went shopping just now, and it refused to reconnect when we got back.

Fortunately, it decided that it would work after all eventually. So no disturbing things for a while...

Usually a good iea to keep a broad band modem connected and on even if the computer is off, it just is more stable and less apt to problems.

The modem is powered by its USB connection, so it goes off when the machine goes off.

The forthcoming router, OTOH, will stay on all the time.

AIM? She's have to be at the computer for that to be any good. Which she won't be...

... the modem lights were on (but no one was home!)

Under "Network Connections" I had to click on "Freedom Broadband" to get it to connect and allow me to get online.
