According to Google maps, Dallas - Memphis is about seven hours, and Oak Ridge - Memphis is about six hours, assuming no construction or other traffic delays.
I've driven Knoxville-Memphis a couple of times, and it's a solid seven hours. There's always construction somewhere, and I always need to make one gas fill-up stop and at least one additional restroom stop.
Oh, OK, I'd not realised Dallas was that close, it requiring one to cross at least one other state. OTOH, Memphis is trying really hard not to be in TN at all.
(I've only driven Nashville to Memphis, which was an easy 3 hours for a driver who had never encountered an Interstate or an automatic before.)
7 hours 20 minutes door-to-door. Stunningly, on one tank of fuel - 464 miles on 13.3 gallons, done by setting the cruise control to 65 mph and letting it get on with it.
I once did 621 miles on ~63 litres - Frankfurt to Cambridge (and then a bit of daily commute). (That was in a Cavalier, so the pootling around on autobahns at up to 90 mph was not too gas guzzling.) 464 miles on ~50 litres is pretty damned good.
I think the pump at this end cut off rather sooner than the one in Dallas, so the consumption was higher than that, but still not bad for a 3-litre V6 (Ford Taurus).

Umm, wouldn't it be easier to start from within the same state as Memphis? I'd have guessed OR as about 5 hours away.
