Faldo

Just had a phone call from Tony - the latest dog he's met seems like a good fit, so they'll be starting together soon.

On November 25, in fact. While we're in the States for Thanksgiving.

So we need to get this all approved by the Guide Dogs people at Redbridge real soon now. Tony thinks that a home visit may not be necessary, as Faldo's been here before and gets on OK with the denizens.

So it's all looking reasnably probable, but the handover has problems... Either we pick Faldo up and promptly board him, or Tony boards him and then we collect him. Or something.

Watch this space...

Good news!

Tony wouldn't be able to handle two dogs for a while, then?

Faldo

Guide dogs have a policy if you live alone you can have only one dog. The reason: as all guide dog owners have a serious sight problem to be able to take your dog for a free run ie time off the lead, you will need to have your dog on harness on the left hand side, and to give him/her commands. Problem, Faldo is trained to walk on the left hand side and will not walk on the right, Rebel is trained to work on the left hand side therefore I would not be able to take both dogs out at the same time, and Faldo would not get a free run.
