We haven't seen Smokey since last Thursday evening. Some cat food we put out last night was apparently untouched at 5 o'clock this morning (yes, the cat flap was switched to "in only"). .

Find out if your neighbours have not opened any sheds/garages/greenhouses in the past week. Get them to have a look. Also vans and cars.
Are any of your neighbours on holiday?
Check with all the local vets and the local rescue centres.
The next step after that, if it becomes necessary, is to leaflet your local area - oh, and junior and infant schools. Kids that young will notice stray cats and dogs.
