So I was watching the TV this morning instead of doing anything useful, and suddenly it went to "No satellite signal is being received".

So: check other channels: nothing. Power down and up again: no improvement. Hmm. Go outside to check the dish: there's a dove sitting on the arm right in front of the focus box.

Throw piece of moss vaguely towards dove: it flies away. Normal service is resumed.

Bah: Nature. Who needs it? :-)

Might we lend you one Abby tom? Just caught a pigeon, and is now peeved at having had it taken away from him. Guaranteed death-on-legs for avian troublemakers.

Don't know if I should suggest this, but any idea how much attenuation of signal you'd get if you stretched an old pair of tights across the dish and arm? :-)
