Another year (and an experiment)

Down to Cambridge for NYE yesterday, and stayed over. The experiment was leaving the dogs in the house (with a neighbour to call on them and feed them): this seems to have worked, in that the house is still here and nothing seems damaged...

Tomorrow seems to be Workman's Day here - the appliance repair chap is back to look at the ashing machine (he was here on Friday, and his repair seems to have failed again) and a plumber is coming to sort out a partial blockage in the upstairs toilet. Both were quite happy to turn up at 9am, so we should have much of the day left after they've been and gone.
