It looks as if the winds of last week have cracked the one really difficult-to-replace fence post in the front fence.

I see chipping away at concrete in my near future :-(

Is it wood? If so, can you cut off the stump and mitre a new post to it? A pain, true, but I suspect less than hamming out a few pounds of concrete.

BTW, get a full face shield if you do go that route -- those chips hurt if they hit your face, and worse if they hit your eye.

Yes to wood, but no to mitring a new post to it :-( as the break is flush with the concrete.

Don't think I could drill accurately enough to join the two halves with a dowel, either.

Nice idea, but it's right next to the oil tank, which could be a Very Bad Idea...
