set a rail steam speed record of 126 mph, which remains unbeaten to this day, despite other claims.

Somewhere in the last few days I'm pretty sure I've seen that a new land speed record for steam has been set - but for a car, not a train.

www.steamcar.co.uk seem to have a bit of coverage recently, but they're taking a shot at it in August.
