Today to Bond Street, for the required medical exam for the Green Card. So I'm duly vaccinated for tetanus, x-rayed (for TB), weighed, measured and examined.

Apparently I'm generally fit to move to the USA, but they didn't like my blood pressure (something to do with dealing with bureaucracy, maybe?) so it's off to my own GP next week to get further checks.

There's also the HIV test, but I have no fear of that - if I'd picked up HIV, it would have been 20+ years ago, and I'd be dead by now. Which I'm not...

Final signoff on the medical, and the interview, and the police report still to come...

In other news, the vendors of one of the houses we're interested in has promised to rent it out in such a way that we can still buy in a reasonable time. Provided we're still interested, and nobody else buys it in the interim.

I imagine you must be getting all sorts of comments about the decision to move to the US right now, what with Americans trying to figure out how to get out of there. When I told people I was marrying Stephen and moving to Australia, a few people joked that it was a clever way for me to get political asylum :->

Good luck with bureaucracy!
