These numbers do not make sence. Crazy people were involved somewhere in the process I guarantee it.

Back when I was shortlisted for a job in Tanzania and thought I may have to leave within a couple of weeks time I did a search for flights. I found what I thought was a fairly reasonable price for a return flight, (with two weeks notice), that was about $1400 IIRC. I believe I set the return to be 1 month from the outbound flight. The one way flight was more than twice that.
