the Red Sox, that is, have qualified for the post-season - if they don't win the AL East, they'll take the wild card. Since they're 3 behind the Yankees with 6 to play, winning the Division doesn't seem likely.

In any case, I'm expecting them to go 4-2 the rest of the way. Why? Because, back in March, I predicted a 98-64 season in the Bosox list competition. And if they manage it, this will be the third year in a row that I've got it right... :-)

Go Sox! All the way!

Must write up my Worldcon notes, including the Wednesday Trip to Fenway, some time soon...

It's good to see the bats going again. And Tek hit one out, which may mean he's coming unslumped. . .

Yeah. We may see everyone in with more than 90 wins. The Cards are really hot (which is really, really, really annoying if you live in St. Louis and aren't a Cardinals fan. It's even worse if you are a Long Time Sufferer™.)

The Cubs aren't done yet. I must chide my fellow Cubs fans who keep saying this year's team isn't as good as last years -- look at the record. Admittedly, they shouldn't be in contention, but at 88-68 with 6 left, they've got more wins than last year. Good news. Three more against the Reds. Bad news. Then three against Atlanta.

But I sure wish the Cubbies would get hot about now -- they've been clawing to stay in contention the entire year. The way the BoSox are starting to play just as the season ends bodes well.

Looks like you did it, huh?
