the Red Sox, that is, have qualified for the post-season - if they don't win the AL East, they'll take the wild card. Since they're 3 behind the Yankees with 6 to play, winning the Division doesn't seem likely.
In any case, I'm expecting them to go 4-2 the rest of the way. Why? Because, back in March, I predicted a 98-64 season in the Bosox list competition. And if they manage it, this will be the third year in a row that I've got it right... :-)

The Red Sox seem to have been hot to start the season, a .500 club when Nomar came back, and to have gotten hot again after The Trade. Now where did he go...?

Sept: 16 - 9 (to date)
So while September has been good, it's April and August that were the hot months.
