Strangely, I've just talked to the local garage in Little Downham about a Felicia hatchback they've got for £1500...

6 years old and 113000 on the clock.

The other lead prospect is a 7-y-o Escort with 90000 at £1300 in Peterborough.

We're loyal Skoda owners: buy 'em second hand, prefereably low mileage, and keep 'em 'til the cost of passing the MOT is greater than the value if the car.

Which is much what I've been doing, only with Fords.

Wasn't impressed with this one: very loose/imprecise gearchange, and not much mid-range (40-60) pickup. Could be OK, but the Escort is likely to be better and cheaper.
