We're loyal Skoda owners: buy 'em second hand, prefereably low mileage, and keep 'em 'til the cost of passing the MOT is greater than the value if the car.
Which is much what I've been doing, only with Fords.
Wasn't impressed with this one: very loose/imprecise gearchange, and not much mid-range (40-60) pickup. Could be OK, but the Escort is likely to be better and cheaper.
