Haven't updated in a while: been spending time quietly at home, mostly.
Yesterday was a nice day, so we took a drive. First to Sutton Bridge to find some UPSs that I'd bought on Ebay last week. The lady of the house was away when we got there, but her husband was there, and turned out to be the one actually selling the kit. This should give us some protection against the vagaries of the local power supply. Once they're installed, that is; anybody local got a spare C14-C13 mains lead? I've found three so far, but we could use another one or two.
Onwards across to Stoke Ferry, to look at a house. Not that we're intending to move any time, but our friend Sasha has been making noises about moving to the country. So I went to look on rightmove (as one does) and found somewhere that looked both interesting and cheap. Nice village (two pubs, Pat!) and nice countryside around it, but commuting would be a problem for me and the house turned out not to suit us anyway. But we'll bear it in mind should we need to move somewhere with better local services than Coveney.
And now the wind is getting up and threatening to demolish the front fence. Hopefully, this is winter's last blast; roll on spring.

IEC cables
Right now my job du jour involves extracting installed UPS units and replacing them with new ones as part of a rolling upgrade program for shops. The new units come with lots of extra C14-C13 cables which we don't need as we use the existing wiring.
Re: IEC cables
Could you drop a couple or so in the post? I dare say Dave can pass you on some cash in Chester, and I might even remember to give him some beforehand.
Which reminds me that Dave and I need to arrange for the art show to be moved...

Re: IEC cables
If you need a C14 plug in a hurry I can post one down to you.
Re: IEC cables
I was thinking I might wind up cutting up a lead to get the plug+wire to rewire into a strip...
